So far we have looked at Spring colours and Spring patterns… Now let's look at Spring Trends 2012 – Part 3:
Spring STYLE!
My top two designs for spring are peplum
and the crop top. The great thing about
peplum – the 'hippy' and the 'hipless' will look good in it. If you have wide hips, a shorter peplum
overlay landing right above the hips is most suitable. This will help to take
some of the emphasis off your hips, where an overlay sitting on your hips could
give the appearance that your hips are wider than they really are. If you have narrow hips, any illusion to make them look wider than they really are is certainly welcome, so this is great LOL.
In the photo below I have done two looks for peplum, both day time - one casual look for just going out and about and the other for more a formal day event:
Here I have played with many of Spring 2012 trends:
CASUAL PEPLUM: Neon Green tank top, black Peplum
skirt, Floral purse, Colour Block shoe.
DRESSY PEPLUM: Neon Pink bateau neckline top, Floral
Peplum skirt, Metallic shoulder bag, two tone Transparent
and Neon yellow shoe (Christian Louboutin)
There is no rule that you have to use all
the seasons’ trends in one outfit, so feel free to picks the pieces you like
and mix and match. For instance, the
Neon Pink top in the "Dressy" look could be replaced with a white button down our a dark blue
bustier!

Beyonce is doing this seasons 'tangerine' peplum dress;
Emma Watson wears a white peplum blouse and black skirt while Jenifer Hudson
wears a multi-texture peplum two-piece. Notice how the curvy ladies keep the peplum skirting off their hips.

SPRING TREND 2012: THE CROP TOP
I love how something as frivolous as the
crop top can look all classy and chic. I
did a simple arrangement below, and hey, I am all for simple:
I love this classic short-to-long, button
back Crop top, it wants to be formal but it’s not really… paired with
spring colour Pale dark green jeans, Neon orange shoulder bag and
a White Cap-toe shoe (Louis Vuitton), which is their version of the Two-toned
shoe.

BEAUTY TIP!
I could not leave you without a little beauty tip. The spring
and summer seasons have the perfect weather for a natural looking skin, so forget the layers! Find a bronzer that compliments your skin. Apply with a soft powder brush from the middle of your forehead, sweeping it on the outer edge right around to your jawline. Mascara and a tinted lip gloss and you are done!
