TO TREND OR NOT TO TREND?

There is usually the question of what trend to get into...

As Islanders we don't experience the climate change as many of the countries that influence our own fashion choices, but we can still have fun in your selection, and if you are a lover of fashion or even just intrigued by it, you always want to know "What's trending this season?"

One Fashion Fall trend is the 70's retro vibe... yes, 70's again!  LOL

The 70's revisit actually started in spring of 2011, carried through summer and is still a big hit here in the fall season.

But something to remember, whenever fashion revisit an era, never go literal, no one wants to see you leaving the house like John Travolta "Staying alive" or Diana Ross.

For instance, I like this Kim Kardashian re-make of her Cher reminiscent look.

The idea is to use pieces to inspire your look, and this is not just for seasonal trends, but in creating your personal style.

Also trending this season is the jumpsuit.  Take 70's style icon Farah Facet's look, which is an Emerald tone jumpsuit, against my modern style option. Jewel tones are hot this season from nail polish choices to make-up to jeans, and here I went with Ruby toned jumpsuit look, pair it with  emerald earring with the clutch tying in all the colours.

whether you will be dusting off that old polka dot skirt or shopping for that jumpsuit, have fun with whatever inspires you, there are many looks to choose from this fall.  Remember though, go for cuts that fit you personal body type and definitely push yourself out of your comfort zone.  There is sooo much to explore!
