DIY - HIGH WAIST SKIRT - CROPPED LOOK

MY FASHION CHALLENGE?

There are days when I'm getting ready and the out fit I have in my head to wear is not in my closet... What do I do? I improvise!

TARGET:  Create a chic high waisted skirt with a cropped top look.


PROJECT: DIY

To get the full skirt look that I have in my head, I went through my closet for the item that would best mimic that style, and I came up with a baby doll dress I probably wore once and will not be wearing again.  It is practically new so I didn't throw it out, and now it gets to live out its life as a skirt!

The good thing about this dress is it has a broad elastic band and detaching it from the top is a simple case of carefully removing the thread.  Look at the transformation:

So, next time you're going for a look and you don't have time to shop, take a second look at your closet for those under used pieces that can be re-imagined.
